[Lleihau]Mode of studyLearners who were either enrolled at a designated work-based learning (WBL) training provider or were pursuing a WBL designated learning programme at a Further Education (FE) institution have been categorised as \'work-based learning\'. Note that this definition of \'work-based learning\' differs from that used for funding purposes. <br /><br />Other learners at FE institutions and Community Learning providers have been categorised as either \'full time\' or \'part-time\' as follows:<br />.  learners who were undertaking learning activities/programmes comprising at least 450 guided contact hours per academic year are categorised as \'full time\';<br />.  learners who were pursuing learning activities/programmes comprising less than 450 guided contact hours per academic year are categorised as \'part-time\'; and<br />.  all learners at school sixth forms have been categorised as \'full-time\'.<br />Note that guided contact hours are defined as the number of teaching, instructional or assessment contact hours provided for the learner.<br /><br />For 2011/12, the study mode of all Welsh domiciled learners studying with English providers is unknown and so those learners can be found under English FE.[Hidlo]

This dataset gives a detailed breakdown of post-16 learners (excluding those enrolled at Higher Education institutions) either domiciled in Wales, or attending institutions in Wales, giving details of the region of domicile of each learner, the provider at which they are based, and the mode of study (full-time, part-time or work-based learning) as well as information relating to their age, gender, disability status and ethnicity.

The data for School Sixth Forms based in England has not been included in the 2011/12 reports.

Following the initial publication of the 2011/12 data, a coding error was identified. This error concerned the incorrect categorisation of two learning providers as Further Education Institutions instead of Work Based Learning Consortia. The data has since been republished with revised figures, and any figures affected by this revision have been annotated.

To avoid potential disclosure of individuals, figures are rounded to the nearest 5, and whilst true zeros are displayed, any values of 1, 2, 3 or 4 are suppressed using a '*' symbol.

To avoid the presence of many suppressed figures, it is thus advisable to limit the number of dimensions viewed at any time in this table, by viewing only the total for those dimensions which are not of interest.
